Commentary

Risk sentiment is firmer after reports that the US and Iran have agreed to halt attacks and resume talks. US futures are higher, oil is off the boil but still supported, and the VIX eased at the prior close. Asia is mixed rather than outright risk-on: Hong Kong is strong, Australia and Singapore are modestly positive, but Japan, Korea and Shenzhen remain under pressure.

The bond market is slightly weaker, with Treasury yields nudging higher across the curve. FX is fairly contained, although USD/KRW remains notably higher. Gold is softer, suggesting some safe-haven premium is being unwound as markets lean into the truce narrative.
