Market Focus this morning...
- NAFTA Talks have yet to conclude. It was said to be competed for last Friday but that didn't happen after Trump made some "off the record comments" to BBG but they leaked out and Canada didn't like it.
- AUD came under pressure after July Retail sales fell shore of estimates. 0.0% (est 0.3%)
- Boris Johnson wrote in the Telegraph that the UK have surrendered to the EU in Brexit negotiations.
- Former Brexit secretary David Davis confirmed he would join rebels and vote against any deal based on May's Chequers plan, under which the the UK would remain closely aligned with the EU on goods and regulation.
- Conservative rebels including Iain Duncan Smith and Priti Patel have joined a backbench campaign to wreck Theresa May's Brexit plans, it has emerged.
The Stand Up 4 Brexit group has apparently recruited around 20 Tory MPs including the ex-Cabinet ministers in an effort to sink the PM's Chequers compromise.
