Market Focus this Morning...
- U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged on Sunday that his son met with Russians in 2016 at Trump Tower to get information on his election opponent Hillary Clinton, saying it was “totally legal” and “done all the time in politics.”
- Germany’s hesitancy to reduce its trade surplus is contributing to trade tension and adds to risks that could undermine global financial stability, Maury Obstfeld, chief economist at the IMF, said.
- The EU on Monday said it deeply regretted the re-imposition of sanctions by the United States on Iran, adding it and other signatories would work on keeping financial channels with Iran open.
- Iran's Rouhani saying open to negotiations if US is sincere, (note his tone over the last few weeks has been negative on potential talks). He adds talks alongside sanctions are meaningless.
- The UK Govt thinks no deal is better than a bad deal on Brexit. according to Govt spokesman James Slack in London.
- Slack added that PM May and Pres Macron had a "good conversation"
